Blended Comfort

Built by Bill Worley Construction and Black Creek Mountain Builders, traditional Craftsman materials of wood and stone are used in this home, but with a lovely array of tasteful contemporary treatments. The interior has wood and metals typical of Craftsman homes, but with an updated floor plan and contemporary décor. To unify the open floor plan, white oak flooring, a light green wall color, and wooden window shades tie the home together.

As you enter the dining room from the foyer or living area, arched cornice molding is used overhead and down into columns on either side of the entrances. A traditional trestle dining table made of weathered elmwood is paired with contemporary side chairs upholstered in beige linen with nail head accents. Overhead a round two-tiered chandelier with interlocking ogee shaped beveled glass provides a stunning focal point for the room.

Metallic Accents
Oil-rubbed bronze is used for the sink fixtures and hanging light fixtures over the counter bar extension in the kitchen. The range hood and apron front sink are hammered copper.

In the kitchen, Craftsman and contemporary styles blend beautifully as copper and bronze accessories mix tastefully with sleek cabinetry, contemporary-colored tiles and stone, and state-of-the-art appliances. The countertops are quartz which has the grain surface qualities of marble, but in the harder Caesarstone quartz. The upper cabinets are maple with a raised front panel and a glazed stain; the lower cabinets are wainscoted. A center island has a black walnut countertop and houses a microwave and storage drawers. The backsplash is green subway tile with an added decorative tile frame over the range top.

In the living area, a matching leather reclining sofa and love seat face a stacked stone fireplace with a roughhewn wooden mantel. Overhead is a tray ceiling and fan. The area rug is pieced together from Oriental rug remnants to give it a faded, worn appearance.

In the master bedroom, the traditional wooden sleigh bed was given a modern twist with an upholstered tufted headboard and footboard with decorative nail heads.  The bed covering is pinch pleated blue silk. The blue silk is also used for decorative bed pillows paired with blue silk stripe pillows. The bedroom has a double tray ceiling with fan.

Sophisticated  Sanctuary
The breakfast dining area has a round weathered elmwood pedestal table surrounded by chairs tightly woven in a decorative brown linen upholstery.

A sliding barn door made of repurposed wood leads to the master bath which has a cream colored tile floor with a wood grain finish. The double vanity’s maple cabinets have a glazed stain with countertops of Lagos Blue Caesarstone quartz. In the corner next to the shower is a free-standing hammered copper tub. The upper walls around the tub are a light green with a light green tile on the lower wall. The light green tile also lines the walk-in shower which has center banding comprised of shades of green and brown rectangular glass tiles.
